Even though I had a fight with my parents, deep inside, I still know that they always concern and care about us for everything. They fight with us because they're afraid we will get hurt in lives and hope we can be a good kid and listen to their advice. Well, everyone knows kids always have their opinions especially when kids are getting older. We all know we love our parents, our family. But most of the time fights are irresistable because we are too close and we will be more blunt to family than to others. Anyway, as I first heard this song, I was deeply moved. I totally could understand what the song wanted to say, because the lyrics were just great. It describes the feelings of parents while they are growing children. Parents look at little kids and are always wondering how their son/daughter will become and finally just want children to be safe and healthy and happy. After listening it, we would be nicer to parents and appreciate their love. It is a great Taiwanese song. Share with you.

This is a song sung by R. Kelly and known especially in basketball field. But of course it is an inspirational song applied to all things. Some american songs are so encouraging that I just think they are wonderful! In my opinion, Americans really do a good job on creating good songs, good moives, good concerts, while asians are working hard and don't really pay attention to life quality... I do think an encouraging place is important to all people because people will have loves and hopes. So, this is a song mainly describing Michael Jordan (?). I do remember the song with Michael Jordan's amazing basketball skills and jumps... Inspiring and splendid! It tells that we all have hopes and we should believe in what we're doing. No matter what the dream is, big or small, we all can achieve it one day. And, that's the spirit!

I Believe I Can Fly Lyrics

And life was nothing but an awful song

My favorite song in junior high. It was the theme song for Disney Cartoon "Aladdin". When I was in junior high, there are many Disney movies- "The little Mermaid", "Beauty and the Beast", "Aladdin", "Lion king". And they were all hits at that time. I remember after school, I'd go to see a movie with my friends, even though we were so young and didn't really know how to enjoy watching movies. And we had to wait in a long line for tickets because so many people wanted to see Disney cartoons. And actually I still think Disney cartoons were better in old times. I think they were more pure and sincere. Because nowadays we can see much technology added on each cartoon, however, they are so perfect that it's so hard for us to see the truth inside. So, I can sing almost every theme song for the old Disney, but can't sing any for the ones now. Well, "Aladdin" may not be the best compared to the new ones but it was the best in my memory and it did bring much joy for younger "sixth-graders".

A Whole New World

I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid

Lately don't have chances to see movies. So, another song again. Well, it is a Chinese song- one of my favorites. The reason I like it is it describes many countries and cities in the song. I like traveling because through traveling, we can see how other people live in their ways, and therefore our perspectives can be widened up. I always admire all kinds of living ways because each of them has their uniqueness. By appreciating different cultures, we will understand what our merits and our shortcomings are while we live our lives. And, we know we are not the center of the globe and will be more humble to everything. So, let's go travel!... Well, have to save money first!

This is one of the songs which I can memorize clearly (the lyrics part). I heard this song when I was in junior high. I remember at that time, Mariah Carey was in her prime, and, I didn't know who Mariah Carey was! But I did think this song was very beautiful and easily to remember. Besides the melody, the lyrics are simple and touching. As to the singers, I like the Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross version the most. I know there are some other versions for this song. However, my favorite would be this one. It is a song for true love. Share with you.

Endless Love

My love,
There's only you in my life
The only thing that's right

This is a special song. According to google, it is a must-learn song for new guitar learners because it is a typical Blues. When I first heard this song, I didn't have any particular feelings about it. But strangely, the more I hear this song, the more I like it, and most people feel the same way. It has a power to draw people into a special sad emotion. Eric Clapton wrote this song to memorize his son, who accidentally died when four years old, and this is why the lyrics and melody show the sadness strongly. This is a song which will make we feel more after we listen to it more.

Another song from Nat King Cole. I heard this song when I was very young. Well, again, I heard it from the movie "Sleepless in Seatle". With Nat King Cole's beautiful voice, even though this song is short and easy, it presents the romantic atmosphere perfectly. Plus the story of "Sleepless in Seatle"- a romance just like an urban legend. They make it a perfect love song for people in love.

It is a nice and typical love song. Share with you. And, may we all feel like being in love all the time.

I don't know if the popularity of the song is because of the movie "Notting Hill". But, it is definately a great song. Very sweet and deary. I've been to some weddings and they chose the song to play- simply to admire the beauty of the brides. Actually, I don't like "Notting Hill" very much because the story of it seems not gonna happen in a real life. But, I do like the two stars of the movie- they're both pretty and good actors. After seeing this moive, I just wanted to visit English towns. I guess I'll have to save more money for so many places I want to visit.

I heard it from "Ally Mcbeal" the first time. Then lately heard it from the movie "Sex and the City". I must say Al Green sang it so well that this song is definately with feelings. I watched "Ally McBeal" again and understand that there are many great songs in it. Songs by Barry White, Al Green etc. Should I say I'm an old-song-lover? Or an old-movie-lover? Well, so far I guess I am. Sometimes I feel the advanced technology brings too many seasonings to the movie and the original feeling of a movie just can't show off. Anyway, back to this song, it is a song for lonely people, again.

It is an easy and sweet song. Not complicated or hard to understand. I simply like the melody of it. It's simple and comfortable. We can always hear this song from a jazz bar. Sounds like best for a relaxing time after work- especially for those who are so diligent that have to work like more than 12 hrs a day. So wanna be relaxed? Go for a nice jazz bar and listen to some nice songs!

It's a powerful song. It was sung by Gloria Gaynor in the 70s. And till now, it's still a popular one used in many movies and tv serieses. I remember it because of the tv show "Ally McBeal", one of my favorite shows. I don't remember in which part this song was played, but, it really is a powerful and encouraging song which can give people strength. As I googled the singer Gloria Gaynor and realized she had a tough time before this song was released. And, she survived. She sang this song perfectly. Share with you.

I went to Beijing few days ago and realized how Chinese people are- or I should say Beijing people. Firstly, they work hard and are competitive. Secondly, they express themselves very well. Thirdly, their food is really oily... Well, since it's all about China, I want to introduce the movie "Shianghai Blues", one of my favorite Chinese movies- even though it's not a story in Beijing, it's in Shianghai. I've been to Shianghai a year ago and feel that Shianghai is a lot different from Beijing. Well anyway, I was gonna say I love the movie, especially the theme song "Night Breeze" (sung by Sally Yeh). The song was played in the part when the actor practiced the violin. The atmosphere is very breezy. It feels like night breeze is there. At that moment, I was totally drawn to the scene and believed the director and the song writer were geniuses. Their work was just fabulous. This is a good movie that shows and expresses how the city Shianghai is.

I heard this song a lot but couldn't remember where I heard it from at the very first place. It was sung by different singers, the most memorable one to me would be the one sung by the HK singer, Karen Mok- I like her special voice. And the one sung by Carpenters would be the most popular. This song sounds a bit lazy and slow, but the atmosphere is very good. It feels smoky and wavy. Even though I don't remember all the lyrics, the melody could drown me, because of the beauty of the waves. Quite nice to hear it when we have a lovely dinner with our lovers or tea time alone in some peaceful afternoon.

Close to You

Every time you are near

To be honest, while I first heard this song, I didn't realize what it meant (actually till now). I heard it from the movie "Sleepless in Seatle", which was quite a popular romance movie 17 years ago- wow, time flies. I was attracted to this song basically because of the singer's voice- I just realized it's from Nat King Cole. And, I found out I was attracted to many of his other songs, all because of his beautiful voice. He's got an incredible voice which can make most of us feel calm and drunk. His voice was born for performing music, especially jazz. Is it called "old-fashioned"? Nope, it's "classic".

It's very unwise to write this late- especially I'm going to wake up early tomorrow. But while I'm listening to this song, it just brought me some feelings. As the early article is about tv series "Sex and the City", the favorite part of it would be the "moon river" part. Big is going to move to LA. Carrie and Big get together in the apartment and listen to "moon river". They both wear simple tops and jeans without any luxurious decorations, but their "texture"(sorry I forgot the English word now) are so great. That episode is my favorite. It's very beautiful. Simple and poetic.

I like this song actually is because of the MV from a korean tv series called "love story in harvard". I like that korean version the best because the singer (Jinusean) made it with more beats and cuter. He made the song much younger. I always felt a singer could easily make an old song totally brand new just to change some notes, especially some korean singers could do the job great. Even though I am not a fan of the country korea and don't hear their songs a lot, I do know some different versions from them and the new version is quite good just like the old version. For example, the "Jingle Bell" from SM town like 10(?) years ago is a new version of "Jingle Bell". I believe there should be much more new old songs. Share with you, "how deep is your love".

There're already plenty of songs describing how we found true love and our lives have been completed, and this song "thank god I found you" is certainly one of them, but I still would like to take note of it because the melody is quite good and lyrics are easy to understand (especially for us, who don't have a mother tongue of English). I heard it from my friend's wedding. It's a good and appropriate song at a wedding ceremony. And, yes, another work from Mariah Carey too.

Mariah Carey's "Hero", one of the most popular songs in the world. And in my opinion, one of the best songs of all the times. I've listened to it like hundreds of times, and, it still always brings me strength and faith. It was sung by Mariah Carey during her prime times. I missed the old Mariah...

As there was a world game in Kao-hsiung last year, the owner invited the well-known singer Hayley Westenra, who is one of my favorate singers. Her voice is very pure and touching. Her most well-known song would be the popular "Amazing Grace", which was the theme song in the Japanese tv series "the white tower" (I tried to translate it into English), which described a story (or I should say a battle) in a hospital. "Amazing Grace" is popular not only because it was broadcasted in the tv series, but also it is the god song sung in churches. The melody and lyrics are comforting and bring people faith. Hayley Westernra's voice is, in my opinion, the most suitable one for this song. Share with you.

This song was from the movie "Music and Lyrics", starred by Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant. I never saw this movie before, but I really like this song, especially the lyric part. It said someone has been waiting for love for so long and finally found the one. It described while a person doesn't find the one, it's been like a shadow over head or like a cloud above the bed, which are interesting for its vivid metaphors. I believe most singles have this kind of feelings just like what the song said. Hopefully we all can find the one and have forever happiness. It's a nice song. Share with you.
